What is Child Dedication?
Child dedication is a moment where parents publicly commit to raising their child to know and follow Jesus. It’s a way of saying, “God, this child belongs to You, and we want Your help as we lead them.”
Is Child Dedication the same as baptism?
No. Child dedication is not baptism. Baptism is a personal decision someone makes when they’re old enough to choose faith for themselves. Dedication is about the parents’ commitment, not the child’s decision.
Why do parents dedicate their children?
Parents dedicate their child as an act of faith—acknowledging that God is the ultimate giver of life and asking Him for wisdom, grace, and strength to lead their child spiritually.
Who can participate in Child Dedication?
Any parent or guardian who desires to raise their child in a Christ-centered home is welcome to participate.
How old does my child need to be?
There’s no age requirement. Many families dedicate infants or toddlers, but children of any age can be dedicated.
What happens during the dedication?
Child dedications take place during one of our Sunday morning services. Parents will come forward with their child, our Pastor will pray over your family, and the church will commit to supporting you as you raise your child(ren).
Will I have to say anything?
No. You won’t be asked to speak publicly. This moment is simple, meaningful, and focused on prayer.
What should we expect on dedication day?
After you register, someone from our staff will reach out with details about when to arrive, and what to expect so you feel comfortable and prepared.
