You’re not here by accident.
If you’re here because you’re curious about God, asking questions, or feeling like there has to be more to life than what you’ve experienced so far—you’re not weird, broken, or late to the party. A lot of people start right here.
Following Jesus isn’t about cleaning yourself up, acting religious, or having everything figured out. It’s about starting a real relationship with God—one that begins exactly where you are.
Christianity starts with good news: God knows you, loves you, and wants to be close to you—right now.

What does it mean to become a Christian?
At its core, becoming a Christian means choosing to trust Jesus with your life.
It looks like this:
The Bible calls this decision SALVATION—being rescued from guilt, shame, and separation from God, and stepping into a brand-new kind of life, like what 2 Corinthians 5:17 talks about.
It looks like this:
- Believing God actually loves you - Not the “generic love for humanity” kind—but personal, real love. That's what John 3:16 is all about.
- Believing Jesus came for you - Jesus lived, died, and came back to life so broken people could be forgiven and brought close to God. Romans 5:8 tells us so.
- Choosing to stop doing life only your way - and deciding to follow Jesus in obedience to what He says is good for your life instead—not perfectly, but honestly, which is why Jesus said what He did in Matthew 16:24.

You Might Be Wondering...
What does “salvation” even mean?
It means being forgiven, restored, and brought into a real relationship with God. It’s not something you earn—it’s a gift. That's what Ephesians 2:8-9 says.
Do I need to be a good person first?
No. If that were the requirement, nobody would qualify. God meets you as you are—not as who you think you should be. Check out Romans 3:23.
What is sin?
Sin is choosing our way over God’s way. It is the thing that keeps us from being right with God. Romans 6:23 explains.
Why did Jesus have to die?
Because forgiveness is costly—more than we can even imagine... our sin is so grave that we have no hope of paying the cost for it on our own. However, Jesus was PERFECT, having never sinned, which is why He was worthy to pay the cost of our sin in our behalf with His life. Check out 1 Peter 2:24.
What happens after I become a Christian?
You don’t instantly become perfect. You start a journey. God’s Spirit helps you grow, change, and learn to trust Him more over time. Philippians 1:6 is really encouraging about this.
What if I mess up again?
God's grace doesn’t disappear when you fail. Instead, when we get it wrong, God invites us to confess our shortcomings as we continue to walk in relationship with Him, committed (He to us, and us to Him) to the change that He is provoking in us. You might want to write down 1 John 1:9 and Romans 8:1 to remind yourself of this truth.
What if I don’t feel anything?
That’s okay. This isn’t about feelings—it’s about trust. Check out 2 Corinthians 5:7.
How to become a Christian?
If you’re ready to start a relationship with God, you can do that right now. You don’t even need a spiritual leader or church to pray with you. God’s listening to your heart. Read about what Jesus said happens when we pray this prayer in Romans 10:9-10.
The Bible says it plainly:
Pray this prayer out loud, from your heart, speaking to God just as you would a friend.
If you prayed that prayer, we want to welcome you to God's family! You made a great decision today, and we hope you are full of faith knowing that God is on your side, and is going to be working in your life to bring about His best for you! Trust Him!

God,
I know I need You.
I believe You love me and that Jesus gave His life for me.
I know I’ve messed up and tried to do life my own way.
Today, I turn to You.
Please forgive me and help me start fresh.
Jesus, I trust You and want to follow You.
Lead my life from here on out.
Thank You for meeting me here.
Amen.
