What is a Student Life group?
A Student Life Group is a group of same-age, same-gender students who get together twice a month to grow in their faith and in relationships outside of regularly scheduled service times.
Why Life Groups?
Recent surveys tell us that when a student attends a youth ministry for the first time, the number one question they’re asking themselves is, “Could I be friends with the other kids who attend here?” For this reason, Life groups start by creating CONNECTIONS during our Wednesday night service experience, but continue in DEPTH through the bi-weekly group gathering outside of that service time. These groups create space for students to get to know one another better, while exploring faith together.
What will students do during their bi-weekly Gatherings?
We do three things when we gather… We eat something. We do something fun. We have meaningful conversation about faith, relationships, personal struggles, and questions.
Where do Life Groups Take Place?
For the time being, all Student Life Groups take place at Victory Church.
Who leads Student Life Groups?
Student Life Groups are led by two or more same-gender adult volunteers who have been both screened and background checked under the supervision of Victory’s Pastoral Staff. These Leaders will serve as both spiritual leaders and mentors to students.
What groups are offered and when do they take place?
There are four Life Groups that Meet:
- Junior High Boys (Grades 6-8)
- Every FIRST and THIRD Sunday of the month from 6:00 – 7:30 p.m.
- Junior High Girls (Grades 6-8)
- Every FIRST and THIRD Saturday of the month from 6:30 – 9:00 p.m.
- Senior High Boys (Grades 9-12)
- Every SECOND and FOURTH Sunday of the month from 6:30 – 8:30 p.m.
- Senior High Girls (Grades 9-12)
- Every SECOND and FOURTH Sunday of the month from 6:00 – 7:30 p.m.
Who can attend a Student Life Group?
Any student in grades 6-12 can attend their same grade, same gender Life Group. That’s right. They do not have to have attended Victory before. Groups are open, meaning students are ENCOURAGED to invite their friends.
